SHOULD JAMAICA DECRIMINALIZE CANNABIS AND WHAT ARE THE SOCIAL IMPLICATIONS?

I read in the paper today that the motion to decriminalize cannabis was passed in the Jamaica when the issue was  presented to the House of Representatives last Tuesday. The motion brought by a Member of Parliament requested for the removal of criminal sanctions with proper monitoring and regulations of the herb or collie buds as the locals refers to it.

Do think that this issue require a debate to explore the social impications? Would you argue that a criminal prohibition wouldn't have the expected outcome? Do you think that cannabis should be monitored and regulated?

A word of caution to all visitors coming to Jamaica, whilst it is still not yet legislated as legal, those who are caught in possessing of cannabis will end up having a criminal record and for locals this will impact on your future job prospects.
